E + D // Ikebana Style Wedding at Amankila in Bali

Where the heck do we even begin with these babes. When E and D reached out to us a few years ago, they wanted to get married in Sorrento, Italy! We had a venue booked, designs designed, and vendors scouted, but something wasn’t right. We took a bit of time and came back to the table with a new destination in mind…

BALI baby. I’d been to Bali before and knew the drill. I was also conveniently headed there in just a few months for a mother / daughter trip! We narrowed the search down to a few spaces and ultimately, we couldn’t get past the beauty and perfection of Amankila.

From day 0, the team at Amankila took such good care of us and were so helpful in the planning process. We were able to build an amazing team and plan the most perfect wedding week for these babes.

Our team headed to Ubud to scout and source before the wedding and guests began arriving to Manggis a few days before.

We welcomed everyone to Amankila with a group lunch just before check in and we were off! After lunch, we celebrated Daniel’s Korean culture with a traditional tea ceremony at the Amankila Suite. After the tea ceremony, guests hung around for tea and sweets and we brought in henna artists to celebrate her Pakistani roots.

The next day was wedding day! The day started early for E and D with a beautiful traditional Balinese blessing ceremony. Then right into a big structure build, so many flowers, grooming for our groom, beauty for our bride, and the usual 351350687 steps before gathering the group for pre-ceremony. Guests arrived to the Amankila suite for pre-ceremony bubbles and soon after, we began. Tucked in a chuppah covered in flowers, with the Indian Ocean as a backdrop, E and D had finally made it to this moment in time. Man, had we been on a journey to get here.

After ceremony, we ate, we drank, we danced the night away. It was absolutely perfect.

After a very short sleep, the guests jumped on some of the Amankila boats and headed to the lagoon for some breakfast and snorkeling before everyone headed their own way. Couldn’t have asked for a sweeter ending, a sweeter couple, and a sweeter experience.
